According to a study by Euromonitor International, Paris was ranked the most popular travel destination in 2024. The ranking included 100 cities worldwide, with Madrid and Tokyo coming in second and third, respectively.
The top ten list is mostly dominated by European cities:
- Rome took the fourth place,
- Milan came in fifth,
- New York City ranked sixth,
- Amsterdam secured seventh,
- Sydney placed eighth,
- Singapore landed ninth,
- and Barcelona rounded out the top ten.
London dropped three positions this year, landing at 13th place. Although the British capital ranked second after Paris in terms of travel infrastructure, it lagged behind in areas such as tourism policy, safety, and health. Bangkok was named the city with the best tourism policy, attracting 32.4 million visitors in 2024.
When compiling the rankings, Euromonitor International focused on indicators such as tourism, sustainability, and economic performance.
