As you know, Merab Dvalishvili defended his championship belt for the first time. He defeated Umar Nurmagomedov in a five-round battle and silenced all doubts.
Following the loss, the Dagestani fighter began to explain himself, claiming he broke his hand in the first round and was unable to continue the fight properly afterward. He also publicly disagreed with the judges' decision and believes he did not lose to Merab.
Today, Umar published a new post on social media:
"No excuses — I will become champion. Nothing else matters. Thank God in any case. I don’t believe I lost this fight. Even if the whole world tries to convince me otherwise, I’ll still say the opposite. I’ll recover from all my injuries and return very soon," wrote the Dagestani fighter.
